Making Time to Write Monday: Writing Retreat
I had the most amazing gift this weekend–a weekend to write. Four of the people in my critique group went to Wintergreen Ski Resort. A generous friend lent us their condo. It was terrible skiing weather at 70 degrees, but it was perfect for writing. We ate sandwiches and chili and bagels and Cups‘ Pimento Cheese.
This was my writing spot at 6:30 Saturday morning. I’m an early morning writer. I probably got the most done during these early morning sessions in bed.
Later, I moved to the kitchen. My friend, Karen, got thousands of words written even despite the lure of the beautiful view.
Then we got a caffeine kick at a coffee shop where we wrote a few more hours.
Each one of us had a project that needed work. New words, revisions, restructuring, editing. It all went down this weekend. I’m grateful for this block of time to write.
While we didn’t get snowed in, we did barricade ourselves into our work.

It was pretty awesome! I’m so thankful to my friend, Erin, for making it all happen!
