Writing Quote Wednesday: Winter
“Let us love winter, for it is the spring of genius.” – Pietro Aretino
I’m not a big fan of winter. I grew up in the tropics, so I love flip-flops and warm weather. I have a hard time staying motivated when the daylight hours are shorter. But this weekend, I was given a gift: a snowstorm that meant I didn’t have to work on Friday paired with holiday on Monday. What did that mean for me as a writer? It gave me the catch up time I needed to get through a zillion e-mails, reorganize my projects, and begin on some desperately needed revisions. While I wouldn’t say it was as motivating as spring, I’m not complaining about the snow. I just put on my warm slippers, wrapped up in a blanket, and got to work.
