Writing Quote Wednesday: Imperfection
“As artists and as human, we have to learn to color inside the line that is imperfect, messy, or even a mistake. Nothing in your life will ever be just right. There will always be pressures and conflicts, making errant smudges and splatters on your life. Living a “good” life is not about living a “perfect” life.”
Life After Art: What You Forgot About Life and Faith Since You Left the Art Room by Matt Appling
On Monday, I posted about giving up the domestic diva mentality and banishing perfection. It made me think about all of the seemingly imperfect things.
My tulips are surrounded by weeds. Imperfect. But, less than two weeks ago they were buried under several inches of snow. It’s all relative. I’d take tulips + weeds any day.
I have learned, nothing is ever perfect. But Matt Appling’s words made me think: I have to learn how to color on the picture that I currently have.

Ahhh, yes! It’s all a matter of perspective, isn’t it. Food for thought. I was just complaining about my yard and how ugly it looks with the gofer holes. I’m going to now concentrate on the pretty tree and purple flowers that I have growing. Thanks, Marcie.

So true, Romelle. Sometimes I have to look on the bright side of things. This weekend, I looked at the bright flowers instead of snow. It’s all relative. 🙂
