Writing Quote Wednesday: Creating the Habit of Art
“Creating art is a habit, one that we practice daily or hourly until we get good at it.”
—Seth Godin, The Icarus Deception
Last weekend, the “We’re All in This Together” folks gave advice on finding time to write (see Post 1 and Post 2). Truthfully, I have had a hard time getting a lot of writing done the last few weeks. I’ve been doing the same thing as always, but I’m not making much progress. This a recent writing session–me organizing four different things that need revisions in a deserted city market.
But I keep going back to the above Seth Godin quote. This writing thing has to be a habit. Right now, I don’t feel the forward motion, but daily, hourly, I have to keep working.
How about you? Do you ever feel like you are in a rut and not moving forward?
