What I’m Reading
by Mary Oliver
What I’m Noticing
My peonies are finally blooming (several weeks behind my neighbor’s–odd right?). I had to clip some for a bit of windowsill art.

Love “open-close-open-close” and peonies! Mine are blooming and reaching for the sun – lots more buds to go.

Yes! I love those peonies. It’s a hint to let me know that summer’s coming.

Such patience! Stunning swallowtail. And I love the peonies too. xo

I know! I just love them!

Marcie, your peony looks so sweet on your windowsill. Two more plants will go into the garden this week. The swallowtail’s movement reminds me of an exercise move we do during yoga and stretch and pump. That haiku is a special one and such a beautiful close-up. If you would like to add this one to Springsations Gallery Padlet, I think it will fit beautifull.

Thanks, Carol! I’ll see if I can add it.

Lovely haiku about the Swallowtail and patience. We can learn patience from nature, can’t we, as we wait for spring to unfold. Great photo! Also, I love Mary Oliver’s poems, which seem very patiently written, and peonies.

I love thinking about Mary’s poems being patiently written. So true!

The swallowtail’s wings look like a southwest mosaic! Beautiful haiku.
Hope your week winds down with some time to breathe.
Marcie Flinchum Atkins
No time to breathe for a bit, but at least the end is in sight.

What a stunning photo with such a beautiful description. Perfect for Virginia!

Thank you! It was such a delight to capture it.

Wow! What an incredible photo! I love the echo of a heartbeat in the rhythm of “open-close-open-close.” Your peonies are lovely, too!

Thank you, Catherine!

Ah, that patience, until they know it’s time! Patience in the peonies, too. My buds are just opening enough to show color. Congrats again for your coming books, Marcie!
Marcie Flinchum Atkins
Oohh! Patience in the peonies is a lovely line!

Gorgeous photo and haiku, Marcie.
And more Mary Oliver — yay! 🙂

Thank you, Karen. I think I’ll be reading Mary Oliver for awhile. I have a bunch of her books to read.
